China Garden Restaurant

I’m not normally one to complain or even post reviews but this food was barely edible. The beef was gray, the egg rolls were bland and dripping in oil, the sauce for the General Tso’s tasted of pure honey, and the low mein was bland and flavorless. I don’t know what else to say. We ended up throwing out the entirety of an $80 order. Absolutely disgusting. They also included ketchup and mustard for why, I have no idea. Go anywhere else.

Really having a hard time giving two stars but the polite staff counts for at least one star and the cleanliness warrants another. I dont know if all the amazing reviews are from other cooks in the kitchen, or we just came on an off day, or Montana has different expectations for good chinese food...but... Our dumplings came out cold in the center and very raw dough gummy-(and i LOVE steamed dumplings and buns! I make them often) I ate one because we were so very hungry but by the time the server came to check and we tried saying they came out cold he responded that they were cold because they were sitting there for a while... 🤔 husband ate some despite being cold but I was afraid of eating undercooked chicken. After that we were worried to order certain entrees and tried going safe routes. My Lo Mein Noodles were mostly spaghetti noodles and barely any veggies/sprouts/meat. The meat it did have was tough and dry, and the noodles did not seem pan fried. Little flavor, mostly an oily taste. Husband's Hot Beef Noodles was slightly more flavorful. But the noodles and veggies were not prepared with care. If the pricing had reflected the quality better we would have not been surprised. But we are glad we didnt order the $20+ entrees. Food came out fast, but more attention to detail would have been better. Felt more like fast food than fine cuisine advertised. I would have been much happier with a third of the noodle portion with double the veggies, and meat that tasted fresh, not from a buffet line. If a friend wanted to go here we might try again. But I wont be craving this place any time soon. If you want fast food, and big portions but aren't used to fresh or flavorful food, this might be the place for you, but we are going to have to pass on this one.

Absolutely awful🤮. I couldn’t eat it. I like salt but this alone made the dish unpalatable. The Mongolian beef was NOT traditional. I have never seen this, YELLOW onion, red and green bell peppers add noodles or rice $2.00. Beef was tough and thick. Egg drop soup was very salty as well. I asked to see the waitress. She confirmed it was their MB. I asked if they would exchange. I had to pay if i wanted to change dishes. Total cost, $18.00. I brought it to a homeless person. I wasn’t leaving something i only took one bite of. So sad. I was so looking forward to a treat for myself.

Update 12/9/23: again amazingly great food and ecpectional service. My wife had the Chicken Egg Foo Young. I had the Mongolian Chicken and asked for it to be more spicy hot. Thet listened! I wish i could give them 100 stars! The absolutely best Chinese food in time. We have been here so many times and again. The food, atmosphere, and service were fantastic. I had Mongolian chicken, and my wife had the chicken egg foo young. Everything was great.

I ordered my dinner takeout: dinner combo 2, chicken mushroom and a large hot & sour soup. I opened the package only to find out that my dinner combo 2 is missing. I double checked with my card statement and I have clearly paid for all three, but the whole combo 2 is missing. I just found about this right now as I have arrived in Washington. This is total disappointment! The staff was nice but this is clearly a bad management. At least I want my money back.
